The Stone Forest also called Shilin is a prominent set of limestone formations located in Yunnan Province in China. The Stone Forest in Yunnan is famous for its tall limestone formations which creates the illusion of a forest made of stone. The limestone rocks are believed to be over 270 million years old.
Back in 2007, parts of Shilin Stone Forest was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the South China Karst. The Stone Forest is a major tourist attraction in China and especially in the Yunnan Province.
